Alittle humor for your Wednesday

The kids are doing really well with the Metric and Customary Measurement systems!

Here are some pictures of the metric system being used in America!

Tonight ask them about the story of Gallon Castle!

Remember to complete 10 Bedtime Math problems this month! They are all pretty neat because they relate to current events! Encourage your 6th graders to work with the little ones and their probem!

Have an awesome Wednesday!

Friday Newsletter 11/1

I feel like I have posted a lot this week.
I hope I have not overwhelmed you with posts!
Its November!!! Horray!
Here is the Friday Update!
The kids love the coordinate grids! I have found (and the kids helped) a lot of different cartoon characters  I thought Angry Birds would be cute so I printed off some pictures and asked the students to plot the points and write down the ordered pairs! Anything kids will do for bonus points! :)

The presidential speeches between 5th and 6th grade, they did SO well!

I knew that Wednesday and Thursday were days that I shouldn't introduce new information to the students! So, I thought of this really cool project where the kids make clocks, but instead of simply putting "12" "1" or "2" I had them put a math expression for the numbers! Here are a couple!

Here is the new clock in the room!

Who knew that putting a piece of paper in a page protector would make such a cool "dry erase" review board!
Playing math review games about 3D figures! Stac n Pac and 3D Dominos!

Happy Halloween!
