Budget Project

The kids were able to be "Adults" for a week!
They got a job, picked out their car and apartement and paid bills!
Lots of surprises came their way!

They learned how to write a check! Gotta pay that rent!

For the end of the project the kids had to write a letter to themselves that I will send to them in 6 years, when they graduate! They all wrote their goals adn dreams and their hopes for the future! :)

Friday Update 3/15

This Friday update will contain pictures from the past 2 weeks! We have been keeping busy in the classroom,

Here are some shots of vocab theatre, the kids sure know how to get creative, I encourage them to use no words- charades- like game.

In science we are learning about conductive and convective heat, insulation and radiation. The kids assignment here in this picture was to research an animal that lives in cold weather, and write 6 facts about how they stay insulated in the cold.

Playing a game outside with our math vocab cards

DWP Bingo winners!

The kids were in charge of making a "Wordle" or collage of "Things that use heat"

The kids learned how to make a double bar graph. I asked them to first estimate how many doors they had in their house, and then they had to go home and count. The 2 bars are the estimated amount and the actual amount.

After learning Mean, Median, Mode, and Range, I asked them to pick a city and find the weather of the week. They then had to apply it to math and find the MMM&R.

After learning about conductive heat, Miss Koch had a surprise up her sleeve and made pancakes to prove it! I did share them, as long as they could tell me the heat process that was happening! :)

Dates to mark in your calendar.

3/20 Science Test over Heat
3/21 Math test over graphs, Mean, Median, Mode, Range
3/27 Early Dismissal
3/27-3/1 NO SCHOOL spring break

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
