What a wonderful week! We did a lot of learning! We started to work with DNA this week, but before we jumped into that we had to assess our knowledge on cells by playing BINGO.
Halle won a book cover!
We also started with fractions, multiplying and dividing.
Miss Koch's class working on DWP skills with Miss Tiedemans class.
Jumping right on in to DNA here, they were to put up folders for privacy, and try and make a unique pattern with 4 colors. In Mr Nichols class we had 21 unique patterns! No repeats! In Miss Koch's class we had 20 unique patterns, Marlee and Alyssa had the same pattern! This was to show how DNA is so different, and makes everyone unique!
Comparing our hands, to show how even though we all have 2 hands, 5 fingers, that we are all still so different. DNA!
We learned a new brain break this week called "twisted"
Again, brain breaks are an opportunity for the kids to get up and get moving, it is only for about 3 minutes, and then they are expected to go back to their seats quietly and be in the mindset to learn again.
It was Hannah Roh's birthday this week!
Look at the uneven distribution of the colors of M&M's, I had to make a quick judgement call and switch up the experiment for science because of the lack of yellow M&M's (this is 3 bags!)
The pumpkin patch at 120 and Military donated 21 pumpkins to my class and to Mr Nichols class. If you need a place to get pumpkins please support them! They rock! and they have decent prices! After I got all these free ones I bought 3 for myself and my total was $1.50!
Showing how traits are passed down through heredity!
Starting our recipe project, and making a surprise recipe in class!
Enjoy your weekend! 3 day week next week! and conferences!!!
