Good Afternoon!
I had 2 students come up to me today, and ask me why I hadn't updated the blog this week yet! I am SO happy they are keeping me on track. I don't know about you, but this week has flown by with a blink. I feel like it should have only started! One thing about the blog you can be for sure about is the Friday Newsletter, which I will work on tonight!
This week has been crazy in the classroom also, with 2 birthdays, 2 tests, and a project due, whew, I learned my lesson, but the kids have been such troopers! And the projects look amazing! I am so excited to hang them up! And kudos to the parents who were the "nuclues'" of the household, your pictures look spectacular! (very brave, those will be hanging in the hallway!)
Before I post the Friday Newsletter, I wanted to do a short post about today's math homework.
The kids should be bringing home their math tests that they took yesterday. Part of their homework tonight is to complete test corrections on a separate piece of paper. Proper heading, and they need to show their work.
Today we learned about prime and composite numbers, ask your child why "1" is NOT a prime number. With that knowledge they learned about prime factorization. So tonight I gave each student 1 3/4/5 digit number to complete the prime factorization of. They should have a colorful piece of paper to complete it on, and them may decorate it if they choose too, or they can just show their work. This will be hung in the room! (They may use a calculator to check their work since the numbers are so big!)

See you tomorrow for the Newsletter!!
